Last week I hit 37 weeks, full term, and we thought it would be fun to get a side-by-side presentation of our 19-week progression (left: 18 weeks; right: 37 weeks):
John likes the angled shots:
Finally, as you might have noticed in the background, we have apples!
It is not fair that you look so slim and trim—but pregnant!—in horizontal stripes. 🙂
Hahahaha! Thank you so much! I promise, it’s only because I’m the picker of the pictures that are posted! There are plenty of moments when “slim” and “trim” I’m sure are among the last words folks would use to describe me. But I’m so touched by your comment!
Anybody who thinks that “slim” and “trim” are not descriptive of you just doesn’t understand pregnancy at all. Like the woman who asked the seven-months-pregnant me how it felt to be fat. I knew I wasn’t fat, so I didn’t even understand what she was saying. She was either being vicious or simply didn’t get it.
Okay, you’ve said that your ankles have swollen. Maybe your fingers have, too. And your rear end may have expanded—I can’t tell from the pix, but if you gain weight in your front you definitely need more padding to sit on. Those are temporary anyway.
But look at the definition in your arms! Not the arms of a fat woman. Look at you from the neck up! I could go on, but I’m hoping that you get what I mean.
Oh, and I love the coincidence of ripening apples and ripening you with baby. 🙂
Oh. my. goodness. I cannot believe someone said that to you at seven months!!! Seriously, what goes through people’s heads sometimes? It’s beyond me.
Thanks so much for the wonderful compliment and encouragement–I hope I wasn’t fishing…but I am very, very flattered. I think I’ve worked hard to have a pretty healthy balance throughout…not always easy when all I want to do is eat ice cream and sleep 🙂 Seriously, thank you!
Love the comparison 🙂 Love that we have an apple tree that actually produces apples!
You look amazing! Seriously, whenever I get pregnant I need tips from you. 🙂
You’re too sweet, thank you!!! And I know you’ll look amazing–both due to your natural character and med school not giving you much of a choice…though a surgery rotation (during med school or residency) might predispose you to the swollen ankles as well (sorry :/). I hope you’re well, and thank you again!
