second author

I’m so proud to be listed among mentors as an author of this recently published paper on patient satisfaction with the laborist model of care in obstetrics!

Prior to this opportunity, I had never attempted this kind of academic writing.  It still feels so foreign to me; it makes me chuckle when mentors use my English lit background as reason to give me more writing responsibility…they know I don’t know what I’m doing, right?  Kinda feels a little like being a new parent (on perhaps a smaller  scale with, I’d venture, less at stake?): trial and error in an effort to minimize crying and produce a decent end product.
