just in cases…

6 Dec

What do you do when you have an infant recovering from GERD who just wants to snuggle?

The answer: watch Christmas movies on ABC Family all. night. long.  I turned the TV to Home Alone just in time to see one of my favorite holiday scenes: when Kevin and Old Man Marley talk in the church while a children’s choir rehearses “O Holy Night.”  I think all choir geeks love this scene.

Other holiday favorites include Jamie’s proposal to Bonita Aurelia in Love Actually, and pretty much anything involving muppets:

Happy St. Nicholas Day!

I have to ask, was Love Actually any inspiration to the name choice?

Indeed! Well…we were searching for Portuguese/Romance language names as a shout out to John’s family, and I remembered this character. Funny thing is that John didn’t remember the context at all, even thought she was totally his character crush at the time (and I would know, since had just started dating 🙂 ). Anyway, we love the name and hope it’s not too annoying for her in the future. Her middle name (Carmela) was my mother’s.

I’m sure you are pretty exhausted at this point but believe it or not, one day you will miss being up in the middle of the night snuggling your baby. Glad you found some good entertainment though 🙂 your little one is just adorable!

Oh, I’m certain you’re right! We’re already getting nostalgic now that she no longer fits into her newborn clothing. Thank you so much for the sweet compliment 🙂 xoxo

Choirs sometimes are the perfect backdrop to give a scene that special punch.

Oh, I love this, Uncle Jim! Thank you!!! Did you see the one from season 2, with Yo-Yo Ma? Apparently in either the episode you mentioned or another one, there is mention about Yo-Yo Ma playing at the Congressional Christmas party…well, Yo-Yo Ma saw this and called up Sorkin to ask if he could actually play on an episode! Pretty awesome, yeah? Oh goodness, I love children’s choirs…how do I get Aurelia into one??
