I watched a 30-something woman voluntarily undergo a 45-minute long colonoscopy without sedation. She didn’t make a sound, she didn’t move a muscle in her face.
An observational note about colon hydrotherapy, in case you’ve been considering it: 1) it does not work; and 2) those warnings about risk of bowel perforation ain’t playin’.

I saw a video once where a woman meditated through a surgical procedure. Instead of having an anesthesiologist, she had her meditation coach. I dont remember which surgery she had, but it involved cutting.
I remember that video (if it was the same one) from brain and behavior! so amazing to come out of surgery without any lasting drug effects 🙂
